Media Release – Registrations for 2017 Border health fundraiser off and running
Registrations for the 2017 Hume Bank City2City are now open and the Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) beneficiary of the event has been announced.
Up to 5000 people are expected to take part in the event on Sunday 19 February 2017.
Hume Bank CEO, David Marshall, said the bank is proud to again be the major sponsor of the fundraiser for AWH.
“We’re hoping the amazing community spirit of the last two years will continue to drive the annual celebration of our cross border health service.
“It would be amazing to see an increase in registrations on last years record figure.”
AWH CEO, Leigh McJames, said 100% of proceeds from the event will be directed to Albury Wodonga Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery.
“The funds will be used to improve facilities and amenities within the maternity ward and for babies needing specialised care.
“The Albury Wodonga maternity ward and special care nursery services an area in excess of 26,000kms2 and has delivered and cared for 28,000 babies since the Albury based Mercy maternity service closed in 1998.”
Hume Bank CEO, David Marshall added, “We’re introducing a new ‘Walk&Talk’ event in 2017.”
“It’s designed to cater for those people who want to join the fun, celebrations and fundraising, but who aren’t chasing their personal best.”
The 2017 Hume Bank City2City Run Walk will again travel from Albury CBD to Wodonga CBD incorporating the two course lengths of 7.5km and 10km.
