Media Release – Mental Health wins City2City run/walk

Almost 4300 people took part in today’s Hume Bank City2City RunWalk for Albury Wodonga Health.

The event raised $110,000 for the organisation with the money to be directed to North East Border Mental Health Service.

Organising Committee Chair Michelle Hudson said she’s thrilled with the increased community participation.

“Mental health is such an important issue, and judging by the numbers of people taking part in today’s event, I believe the community thinks its important too”, Ms Hudson said.

“The money will be used to fund preventative mental health programs across the region.

Ms Hudson added, “It was pleasing to see so many young people take part this year.”

“We had a lot more kids register this year, making it a fun family event.

“Once gain our volunteers did an amazing job for a second year and I’m extremely proud of the whole team.

“We are really lucky to have the support of so many local businesses, such as the Hume Bank, which has meant that 100% of participant registration fees can be donated to North East Border Mental Health Services.

“Many of these businesses, including Hume Bank, have confirmed they will support the event again in 2017. “
